Justus S. - Candidate
At 13 yrs of age Justus has just finished his Std 8 yr and is among the top three of the scores for scholastic achievement. He is the middle child in a family of 9 where his father is a peasant farmer and his mother cares for the children and helps in the field with farming. His test scores and his determined attitude place him well in the top 10% of scholastic potential. Justus writes that he will become a sponsor of future children who are poor.

Milka N. - Candidate
Milka Nyangaresi is fourteen yrs old and in her second year of secondary. She was added midyear 2011 as she was financially unable to continue even though she was ranked high, 8th out of 96 among first year students. Milka comes from a family of ten including seven sisters and 1 brother. Her parents are both farmers and without the school fee support she would not be able to continue her education.

Rose N. - Candidate
Age 13, 2 brothers and 3 sisters, father is a shoe repair man and her mother is in small business of selling tomatoes because she is one of the GAD Kenya micro business women. Her goal is to become a lawyer. Rose likes to spend leisure time singing and reading.

Age 14 in form II at Matagoro Secondary.

Erick I - Candidate
Age 18 eric is one of the older students. Usually a secondary student of this age represents the families lack of funds to continue annual fee for education. Erick has not had yearly education but has had to skip years due to lack of fees. This situation also affects the grade level the student can achieve. Erick is entering his final year and so with help he canimprove his scores and be better prepared for the job market.
